Bogotá, 10 -14 October 2022.
During this week the Biocarbon Project results were presented, including actions related to environmental and social management. Each component had the opportunity to present the progress of its subcomponents, consultancies, and activities.
In addition, two protocol meetings were held, one with the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development where the Vice Minister of Territorial Environmental Planning, Francisco Javier Canal, led the meeting, along with the participation of directors and representatives of the World Bank, Ministry of Agriculture and Sustainable Development (MADR), Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (IDEAM), National Parks, the British Embassy and the Institute for Planning and Promotion of Energy Solutions for non-interconnected areas (IPSE).
The second meeting was with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, with the participation of directors and representatives of the World Bank, the Agricultural Rural Planning Unit (UPRA), and the Colombian Agricultural Research Corporation (Agrosavia). Likewise, a subsequent meeting was held with the Vice Minister of Agricultural Affairs, Luis Alberto Villegas, together with the director of innovation, María del Pilar Ruíz.
The two Ministries and allied entities reaffirm their commitment to the project and to work in an articulated manner for a more sustainable low-carbon region.
The following three days, from October 12 to 14, the Emission Reduction Payment Agreements (ERPA) workshop offered by the ISFL Biocarbon Fund was held, it was a hybrid event in which around 100 people per day participated.
The project team was very pleased with the mission, great learning, and new actions were taken to move forward. Thanks to the World Bank, executing entities, co-executing entities, allies, advisors, consultants, and all the actors that support our project.
